“Red” Photo Challenge

December 19th, 2011

I decided to better my skills as a photographer (#50 on my 101 in 1001 list) I’m going to try to enter more photography challenges online. I recently stumbled upon The Paper Mama who holds weekly photo challenges on her blog all centered around your kiddos (human or furry.) I thought it’d be fun to give it a go and even if I don’t win I’ll have tons of cutey pie pictures on Sam!

This week’s challenge is “Red”. Super easy to do seeing as how it’s Christmas time and Sam might just be in possession of the perfect Christmas hat!

I really enjoyed participating in this challenge. I’ll admit, there were days when it was a real struggle to find something interesting to photograph for the specific prompt. And days when I was just too lazy to find a nice shot. However, I really learned a lot from some of these prompts. I learned about bokeh, long exposure, silhouette and much more. And I learned how to take all these pictures without a fancy manual camera.

I think I’m well on my way to becoming a better photographer. Which means maybe someday soon I’ll be able to cross that off my 101 in 1001 list!

PS My giveaway ends tomorrow at 12 midnight Central Time so please go enter if you want to win my Pretty Scallop Tote!
