Hey y’all. I know it’s been ages since I’ve posted anything. I just want y’all to know that everything is fine….great actually. Basically in the the last weeks Sam has become extra active and interactive meaning he needs more entertainment and he’s even more fun to play with now!
Basically I decided that I’d rather spend all my time playing with him and enjoying his smiles and taking pictures than staring at a computer writing words that were starting to seem forced to me. I really do appreciate y’all following my little blog, but for now I’m going on hiatus.
I know I’ve got some avid readers (i.e. family members) who are probably pouting at their computer screens right now thinking they’ll never see another picture of Sam. Well think again. I’ve created a Picasa site for y’all to follow along with (family and friends)! You can also click on the purple Picasa button on the right side of my blog.
I’ll still be taking Sam’s weekly and monthly photos and posting them there. I’m also going to continue to post my 365 photo project photos there and any other pictures I deem share-able. I know some of you might miss my writing, but I just don’t want to miss a second of time with my rapidly growing baby boy.
I’ll miss all you wonderful readers! For now….

Hi, my name’s Jenn and I’m addicted to Pinterest. Pinterest is now officially in my rotation of sites I stop by at least once (who am I kidding – it’s probably more like 10 times) a day!
I love seeing what people pin and I love pinning things myself. It’s way better than just bookmarking things in your browser. I don’t know about you but whenever I got through my bookmarks I never know what they are (granted, I’m too lazy to rename them at the time of bookmarking) without clicking on each and every bookmark. Pictures are so much better!
I figured I’d share a few of my favorite finds with you today and feel free to follow my boards if you’re a Pinterest addict too!
(This was from Etsy but is no longer on there)
See why I’m addicted? Delicious recipes, lots of DIY ideas, cute prints, crafty-ness and lots more! Seriously go check it out! And if you need an invite let me know.
What do you use Pinterest for and are you an addict like me?

Today’s font was chosen in honor of my big Sis, Sarah’s 30th birthday tomorrow. I can’t believe she’s 30! She’s a great sister and and even more awesome friend and I’m so thankful that she lives in Austin too. I don’t know what I would have done if she hadn’t moved down here 5 years ago. (I may not have stuck around long enough to meet my wonderful husband! So thanks Sar!)
It’s called JI Balloon Caps and can be downloaded for free here.
Have a wonderful weekend and I hope no bad luck comes to you this Friday the 13th!

I’m a big resolution maker. I make them every year. I don’t always do a great job sticking to them but I really want to try hard this year. My husband says this is our year!
Be Healthier. We’re both going to try to eat a bit healthier. That means not eating out nearly as much as we do now. Cutting way down on our Dr Pepper intake. Eating more vegetables (definitely more of a struggle for my husband than me). Exercise (or at least be active) more frequently.
I’ve definitely got some baby weight to shed still and who doesn’t want to look hot by bathing suit season? I plan to work out at least the three days I have off every week and then I want to try to take Sam for a walk the four days that I do work each week. I’m hoping that this activity in combination with eating better will help me shed these unwanted pounds.
Save Money. We’ve put off this goal for the last couple years by making excuses that we had other things going on – getting married, having a baby, etc. No more excuses! Our goal is to pay off all our credit card debt by the end of the year. My husband’s truck will also be paid off by then. We’re ultimately working towards the goal of being able to buy our own house. We’re very sick of renting and throwing away our money so I really hope we can get it done this year!
This also means not spending so much. Again, less eating out. Less buying frivolous things like 20oz Dr Peppers and random other things that we think we need.
Other than that, my only other resolution is to stay happy. Which isn’t hard when I’ve got a great husband and a cute little kiddo to come home to every night! What resolutions are you trying to follow through with this year?
Hey y’all! Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I know we sure did down here in Texas. Although we started our Christmas early this year with the birth of our son in August!
We had a quiet Christmas this year. I received a bunch of great gifts including some wonderful handmade things from my mom and sister.
My dad gifted me a new sewing machine! I was very much in need of a new one. I’ve been using the same one my mom bought me when I was 12 or 13. The tension was horrendous.
I feel so fancy now with this new machine. It does 60 different stitches, including 8 different types of button holes. It threads the needle for you and I don’t even have to use the foot pedal. There’s a stop and start button. It’s crazy. I have to thank Kate over at see kate sew for the recommendation. She wrote about this wonderful machine a few months ago on her blog.
My sister loved her scrap map; also a see kate sew find! I tried really hard to use fabric that represented each individual state. (Elvis – Tennessee, Apples – Washington, Peach – Georgia, etc.) It was definitely a challenge since I was only using scraps from my stash.
I know next year will be even more fun at Christmastime because Sam will be a bit more interactive. He didn’t really know what to do this year. We opened his presents, he promptly tasted them and then went back to drooling, pooping and napping.
I’m sad it’s over already but I can’t wait for next year!
