Nope, no baby yet. But I figured since it’s my official due date I’d write the rare Saturday post.
I’ve already requested it on Facebook, but if y’all could send my little guy some words of encouragement maybe he’ll decide that today is the day to show his cute little face! (And then I won’t have to work tonight!)
Also, I thought it might be fun to play a little guessing game or two. If you wanna play all you have to do is leave a comment with your guess on when the little bugger will actually show his face (date and time) and how big he’ll be (weight and length). Then I can give away two prizes! One for each category.
I want to give away a delicious baked good, but I’ll leave the choice up to the winners. Here’s a selection of things I can make:
- cookies (any kind)
- pie cookies (like tiny handheld pies)
- cake balls
- anything else your heart desires that fits in a box and won’t melt in the mail
And I’ll let you all know as soon as the little guy shows up! So guess away and dream of delicious baked treats showing up in you mailbox (hopefully sometime soon)!
Hey y’all. I found the perfect font for this week: It’s called Baby!
I can’t decide if I think it’s cute or slightly creepy, but either way it’s free. Download from dafont.com.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mostly out of boredom I decided to create a little slide show with all my weekly bump photos for your viewing pleasure. (If the video below isn’t showing up for you, click to view the individual post and it should show up then.)

I had the ultrasound today. Everything looks great! They think he weighs about 7.5 to 7.75 pounds right now. The baby is in great position (head down and facing my back) if only he wanted to come out! He’s got five toes on one of his feet (we couldn’t see the other foot) and he’s super crammed in there.
These crazy ultrasound pictures are always hard to see so I tried to outline the foot for you to make it a little easier to see.
Now all I have to do is sit tight, work two more days of work and then hopefully welcome our baby boy in the next week or so!
Hope y’all are having a great Thursday!
So my wish did not come true from last week. I’m back writing another weekly update post. Oh well.
Everything’s pretty much the same this week as last week. Still no baby. Boo. The baby is still way up under my ribs and is showing no signs of dropping. I think I’ve created too nice of a home for him in there and he wants to stay now. Doesn’t he know that everyone’s waiting to meet him? Correction – everyone’s dying to meet him. Are you listening baby?!?!?!
He’s officially the size of a mini watermelon now. That means he’s around 7 pounds and a little over 21 inches. It’d really be easier for everyone if he came out now rather than a pound or two later. I hope he figures that out soon.
I had some weird back pain yesterday that caused me have a horrible night of sleep but other than that I’ve got nothing. I have two more days of work and then I’m officially free for three months. Now I’ve just got to find something to occupy my time with until baby boy shows up.
I do have to go get an ultrasound tomorrow. My blood pressure was slightly elevated (it’s usually perfect) today at the doctor’s and when she measured the baby he hasn’t grown any over the past week so she wants to make sure everything’s ok in there. If the ultrasound checks out then I’ll be back to the doctor’s next week for another meeting with the doctor and another ultrasound. After that I think she said we’ll make a decision on when an induction is necessary. It all depends on the health of the baby and me. Maybe I’ll get lucky and he’ll come before I have to go in next week. Please cross your fingers for me!
…I decided I would paint my nails. Normally I don’t wear polish on my nails at all, but like I said I’m bored. This whole waiting for the baby to show up has got me getting creative to find ways to entertain myself.
I still check in on Weddingbee occasionally and saw this awesome post from Mrs. Cinnamon Bun the other day. It looked like fun so I figured I’d give it a go today. But first here are her results:
And here are mine:
Cute, huh? Other than the fact that I clearly lack skills in keeping the polish just on my nails, I’m pleased with the result. I used pretty much all the colors I own: hot pink for the base and then dots in dark blue, teal, purple and coral.
Just think of the possibilities! Red with blue and white dots for Fourth of July or red with green and silver dots for Christmas or black with orange dots for Halloween. Super fun!
