So Close!

I don’t know if y’all have heard of a little thing called a cottage law, but it’s a big freakin’ deal! (At least to me.)

Basically if there’s a cottage law in place in a certain state it allows people to sell baked goods (cakes, cookies, pies, breads) out of a home. I’ve always dreamed of having my own baking business someday and what better way to start it then out of my home.

Why am I mentioning this now? Well, Texas is in the process of passing their very own cottage law! It’s currently awaiting a signature from Governor Perry that has to happen by the end of the week! As long as he doesn’t veto the bill, starting September 1st it’ll be completely legal to sell baked goods from home!

Keep your fingers crossed that it passes! It would be a huge start to a possibly dream business for me!
