I’ve been so tired lately. I know that comes with being newly pregnant, but it seems to hit me at the weirdest times.
So cute, I couldn’t resist including it
Lately, waves of tired-ness hit me when I’m sitting at my computer checking email or surfing the web. Then I convince myself that I should just close my eyes and take a power nap. It happened tonight after dinner. This is probably the third or fourth time in the last ten days that I’ve power-napped at my home desk.I know it’s perfectly normal, but I still feel super lame for being sleepy at 7PM.
In case y’all didn’t know, I’m pregnant! I found out about a week and a half ago. I peed on two sticks, one “old-fashioned”, one all high-tech and digital. Both said I was pregnant. Yippee!!!
Next step: I grabbed my husband and headed to the doctor to confirm because really, can you trust something that you just peed on? I guess you can considering all they did at the doctors was another pee test.
I was hoping to find out our due date at that visit, but no such luck. Here’s where I go all TMI on your butts for a minute: Basically, for the last 2.5 years I’ve been on birth control. It’s that handy-dandy kind that completely takes your period away. Well, I went off the pill about mid-week before our wedding and am pretty sure I got pregnant on our honeymoon. That’s not even a week off the pill. And I didn’t get a period after leaving the pill behind. Basically that means the doctors had no “first day of your last menstrual cycle” to count from.
Lucky for me, they scheduled me to come in for an ultrasound on December 6th so they can measure the baby and give me a more accurate due date. The estimated due date is currently sitting at July 29th! And bonus with the ultrasound is I get to see the baby and possibly even take a picture home. I don’t care if it looks like a peanut, I want a picture!
How did you find out you were pregnant? Did you have enough courage to believe the pee on a stick method or did you have to take multiple tests and consult with a doctor before you believed?
Hi y’all! I’m starting up a new blog now that the wedding is over. It’s on to a new part of my life and new things.
Wanna a little look into what you’ll probably see on this blog? I’m basically going to be using this blog to talk about life, experiment with recipes, try out new crafts and try to teach myself to be a better photographer. My sweet husband did get me a pretty kick-ass camera for my wedding present after all, so I want to put it to good use.
Please stick around, comment if you like, and simply enjoy!
